 Hulda Jencks' Obituary from The Cheyenne Star

Funeral services for Mrs. Hulda Johana Halburg Jencks were conducted last Wednesday afternoon, in the First United Methodist Church of Cheyenne. Pastor Richard G. Benefield officiated, and Rev. Milton Gage, pastor of the First Baptist Church, assisted. Mrs. Jencks had undergone and extended illness, and passed away in the Cheyenne Hospital. She was born in Illinois on March 16, 1881, and died April 23, 1973 at the age of ninety-two. She came from Texas to Oklahoma in 1901, and lived in Oklahoma for seventy-two years. She was a housewife, and member of the Elk City Church of God for sixty years. Survivors include two daughters: Carrie Bowers of Cheyenne; Esther Opal Burrows of Cheyenne; and three sons: Ross Everett Jencks, of Elk City;  Verne Oscar Jencks of Sayre; and Oren Raymond Jencks of Cheyenne. Mrs. Jencks is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren. Interment was in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Scroggins and Son Funeral Home. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
